VIP Guest Relations Manager (Hybrid, Seasonal)

NYAFF is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented VIP Guest Relations Manager to lead all hospitality efforts for all the domestic and international guests at the festival. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Programming and Operations teams, you will recruit and manage the Guest Relations team; coordinate with travel agents for flight and accommodation booking; create and manage guest itineraries; ensure a seamless experience for all guests; and provide on-site support during the festival. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, experience handling high-profile talent, filmmakers, and international guests and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.

The ideal start date is April 15, 2025 or earlier. A minimum of 10 hours per week from April to May and full-time availability from June to July is required. On-site presence is required during the festival dates (July 11-27).

Key Responsibilities

  • • Recruit, train, and supervise the Guest Relations team (including Guest Handlers, Ground Transportation Coordinators, and Guest Relations Assistants, and Hospitality Volunteers)
  • • Serve as the main point of contact for festival guests, overseeing all outward communications and ensuring a high level of hospitality
  • • Work with travel agents to coordinate flight and accommodation booking
  • • Communicate with guests to confirm itineraries, handle inquiries and requests under the supervision of the Executive Director, and ensure updates are made timely
  • • Manage all guest activities and support Operations and Production teams to ensure timely arrival at venues for press, screenings, and events during the festival
  • • Ensure a top-tier festival experience for all guests, handle complaints, and maintain open communication with the Executive Director and other departments

Qualifications

  • • 2+ years of work experience in film festival or entertainment industry required
  • • Experience in guest relations or hospitality is a plus
  • • Detail-oriented, team player, excellent communication skills, and strong organizational and administrative skills
  • • Ability to welcoming and interacting with high-profile guests from diverse backgrounds
  • • Multitasking and problem solving skills, comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • • Proficiency in Google Workspace suite and Microsoft Office and experience in database management
  • • Fluency in any Asian language (preferably Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Korean, Japanese, and Thai) is a plus

Digital Marketing Manager (Hybrid, Seasonal)

NYAFF is seeking a creative and visual media-savvy Digital Marketing Manager to lead online campaigns and increase audience engagement with all NYAFF programs and events. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Programming, Public Relation, and Operations teams, you will recruit and manage the Digital Marketing team; develop and execute marketing strategies; manage and grow our presence across all digital platforms; and analyze key performance metrics to optimize outreach.

The ideal start date is April 15, 2025. A minimum of 10 hours per week from April to May and full-time availability from June to July is required. On-site presence is preferred during the festival dates (July 11-27).

Key Responsibilities

  • • Recruit, train, and manage digital marketing interns and specialists for email marketing, social media, advertising, and live event coverage
  • • Develop and implement measurable digital marketing plan and strategies to enhance NYAFF brand visibility, audience engagement, and ticket sales
  • • Oversee digital content creation, working with Visual Asset Manager, Graphic Designers, Video Editors, and the Photo/Video team to ensure consistent, high-quality visuals
  • • Supervise social media posts, ensuring regular and engaging content across platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, Youtube, Xiaohongshu, etc.)
  • • Track and analyze digital performance metrics and industry trends to adjust marketing strategies according
  • • Collaborate with media partners, sponsors, and industry contacts while seeking new online partnerships and promotional opportunities
  • • Assist with writing, proofing, and revising marketing materials as needed

Qualifications

  • • At least 1 year of work experience in digital marketing or film industry
  • • Strong leadership, teamworking, and multitasking skills in fast-paced environments
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication, editing, and proofreading abilities
  • • A keen eye for visual media, branding, and audience engagement
  • • Proficiency in Google Workspace suite and Microsoft Office
  • • Familiarity with basic graphic design or video editing tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.) is preferred
  • • In-depth understanding of digital platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, and Youtube), email marketing tools (Brevo), and online protocols
  • • Familiarity with Asian cinema and pop culture is a plus
  • • Knowledge in any Asian language (preferably Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Korean, Japanese, and Thai) is a plus

Digital Marketing Specialist – Xiaohongshu Focus

The New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF)/New York Asian Film Foundation is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to manage and grow our presence on Xiaohongshu. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead digital marketing efforts for one of New York’s premier cultural events, helping shape the festival’s identity and engagement with audiences leading up to the 24th edition of NYAFF in July 2025.

This is a unpaid internship running from April 14 - July 31, with full-time on-site availability required during the festival dates, July 11-27.

Key Responsibilities

  • • Develop, schedule, and manage engaging content tailored specifically for Xiaohongshu, showcasing the festival’s unique offerings.
  • • Strategize and execute digital campaigns to promote festival, partners, and sponsor events.
  • • Collaborate with the broader marketing team on cross-platform content creation (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).
  • • Interact with followers, responding to questions, comments and messages.
  • • Contribute to bi-weekly digital marketing reports and analyze metrics for campaign optimization.

Qualifications

  • • Strong experience in digital marketing, with demonstrated expertise in managing Xiaohongshu campaigns.
  • • Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin), with excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English.
  • • Passion for Asian cinema and culture is a must.
