My Missing Valentine
Ever feel out of step with the rest of the world? Almost 30, Hsiao-chi has always done everything a few moments before everyone else, yet she lags behind in significant ways. Her humdrum job at the post office and lack of romantic prospects are leading nowhere fast until an odd series of events results in a most perplexing loss of memory. Writer-director Chen Yu-hsun (Zone Pro Site: The Moveable Feast, The Village of No Return) has concocted a dazzlingly original and whimsical twist on the rom-com with a dash of melancholy and a wry, sardonic wit that’s not to be missed.
